NHS England Bridging Programme
The following annual awards funded by NHS England (previously HEE) and managed by the University of East Anglia in partnership with other universities in the region are available to non-medical health and social care professionals employed in the East of England (Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk) to support the national agenda to increase research capacity and contribute to the improvement in patient outcomes.
Pre-Masters Internship provides an introduction to research and prepares individuals to apply for a HEE/NIHR Pre-Doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship (PCAF), Masters in Research or other similar career development opportunity.

Pre-Doctoral Bridging Award is designed to support individuals with research Masters-level qualifications who aspire to undertake a Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship (HEE/NIHR DCAF) or other similar PhD opportunity.
Post-Doctoral Bridging Award is designed to support individuals who have completed a PhD and wish to progress their clinical academic career and to apply for an NIHR/HEE Advanced Clinical Fellowship (ACAF) or other similar post-doctoral opportunity.
